JOLT is pleased to be the first Canadian accelerator to officially support the FbStart program.

FbStart is a new program from Facebook to help mobile startups at different stages in their life cycles to build and grow their apps.  The program provides access to the right tools for entrepreneurs – including Parse Pro, Facebook mobile app ad credits, invitations to special events, and tools from industry leaders.

There are two tracks for the program, based on where the app is in their growth: FbStart provides developers with up to $5,000 worth of developer tools for the Bootstrap track, and up to $30,000 for the Accelerate track.

Developers are admitted on an application basis, but once accepted they’re granted access to tools from the partner companies working with the program. Developers with iOS or Android apps available to the public are eligible to apply.

FbStart is an extension of Facebook Platform’s mission to help developers build, grow and monetize their apps. By providing mobile app developers with the essential services they need to get their businesses up and running—or to take them to the next stages of growth—Facebook hopes to help expand the overall app ecosystem.

JOLT is excited to support FbStart, and can’t wait to see what sort of companies flourish with the tools under the new program. Access to the tools provided by FbStart allows startups to accelerate their growth in the market, get help with their product testing, recruitment, customer care and more – all vital to startups’ development. We encourage the JOLT startups to apply, and other qualified Canadian startups building the next evolution of innovative mobile applications.
