JOLT’s network offers invaluable advice.
JOLT gives us access to a tremendous amount of networks and mentorship from a wide range of expertise in company-building, creative design and advisory experience. These introductions are invaluable. And for Singspiel, it’s an absolute benefit.
Let me put it this way, JOLT’s network makes it 500 times faster than it would have taken me to solve a problem I’m having as a startup co-founder. It’s incredible.
The mentors at JOLT understand the sort of problems an early-stage startup faces within the tech industry. They have worked with other startup founders and know how to pull information to support us in the decision making process and help us solve the problem.
For us, finalizing the revenue model and pricing strategy was (and in fact still is) a big issue. We have talked about B2B versus B2C, selling our technology to music publishers and all sorts of other ways. Our advisors would look at my business models and say, “this is what you guys have to do,” then they’d say, “we have worked with X number of companies in the past, and we know that this would work the best for Singspiel.” There are only a handful of people who actually have such knowledge and expertise in the Toronto area.
The other thing is, the mentors always encourage the entrepreneurs to build persuasive mentalities. And this fits perfectly with my own persistent personality. Luckily, our very supportive lead mentor, Krista Jones, is always there to help us anytime we have a problem and we meet with her on a weekly basis to provide updates on our progress.
