Three sessions hit the mark with Venngage

Venngage was asked: What’s been your favourite JOLT session/workshop so far and why?

With so many experts coming through the door, it would be impossible to pick just one favourite session. Instead, we’ve picked the three that have been most valuable to the Venngage team, and have stuck out the most.

Ash Maurya, author of Running Lean and founder of Spark 59 gave a fantastic presentation on the importance of running experiments to determine products direction. The case study he used was in the creation of his book. Normally I’m not a fan of people that use themselves as a case study, as they’re often doing it to push their own products, but Maurya did it in a way that wasn’t pushy, rather it was very helpful for us. By far the most useful part was the one-on-one workshop time with Maurya where we focused on running experiments that ultimately resulted in us pivoting the direction of Venngage.

Alistair Croll, an analytics guru, and author of Lean Analytics came to talk about his area of expertise — analytics. Croll also used his book as a case study on the importance of analytics, also keeping it lean. It is so easy to get caught up in vanity metrics, and Croll kept us focused on what metrics matter most, and the best ways to measure them. Based on his session, we were able to focus on metrics that matter most.

Jet Cooper is a local design firm, and in our opinion one of the best. JOLT has provided us with some one on one time with them and regular office hours where we can drop in and get some feedback on our design. The time we have spent with Jet Cooper has been incredibly valuable in helping us redesign our platform and website.
